Colin Moss. Artist and Critic.
Nicholas Usherwood. Galleries Magazine.
Dale was born in the year of the Cuban Revolution and the first Barbie Doll - 1959.
Although his artistic talent was recognised at a young age, a defining moment came in 1972 with the discovery of "Graphis Magazine", a showcase of the best European design and illustration. From this moment Dale knew he was to be an artist.
He progressed to Ipswich Art College in 1979, studying illustration and design. He found the strictures of the course limiting and unimaginative, and left in 1982 to make his living as a fine artist.
Through the 1980's Dale made an impact exhibiting through open competitions and selected exhibitions, both regionally and in London. He gained recognition for his boxed constructions, showing with England and Co., London, going on to win prizes and having work purchased by Epping Forest District Museum. He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Overseas League Annual Open Exhibition, London. Further, his work is represented in many private collections in the UK.
Since he held his first solo show at Chappel Galleries, Essex, in 1992 Dale has exhibited regularly at numerous regional galleries.
More recently Dale was invited to hold a solo exhibition at the Fermoy Gallery in King's Lynn, Norfolk, and also enjoyed a third solo show at the North House Gallery, Manningtree, with his remarkable collages.
